Accessibility
Last updated
We want this site to work for everyone, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, or a larger text size. We build to the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines as our target.
What's in place
- Real headings in order on every page, so structure makes sense out loud.
- A "skip to content" link for keyboard users.
- Every interactive element is reachable and usable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Text alternatives on images that carry meaning.
- Colour contrast checked against the AA threshold.
- Animation is kept subtle and switched off automatically if your system is set to reduce motion.
- The layout reflows cleanly down to a phone screen and up to a large zoom level.
Where it falls short
The videos embedded from YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram use those platforms' own players. We don't control their controls or captions, and some fall short of what the rest of the site aims for. Captions on our own films are added case by case rather than across the board yet.
